Mile High Fire Protection provides fire alarm permit drawings, calculation packages, shop drawings, and submittal support for contractors and integrators in Denver and across Colorado. We understand how fire alarm systems are built — not just how they're drawn.
We handle the technical design work so you can focus on the installation. From permit drawing packages to AHJ resubmittals, we deliver accurate, buildable documentation on your schedule.

Learn moreWe prepare written responses to AHJ plan review comments, revise drawings as needed, and assemble the resubmittal package for you to submit.
Learn moreEarly-stage design consulting for design-build projects. We work with your team to develop a system that meets the spec and fits the budget.
Learn moreMost fire alarm design firms have never installed a device, pulled a wire, or stood in front of an AHJ. We have. That experience shapes every drawing we produce.
We design systems the way they get installed — accounting for conduit runs, device spacing, panel locations, and field conditions. No drawings that look good on paper but fall apart in the field.
Every drawing package is built around what the AHJ needs to approve it. We know what plan reviewers look for and we include it — the first time.
Contractors don't have time to wait weeks for drawings. We communicate clearly, set realistic timelines, and deliver on them. If something changes, you hear from us first.
You get the technical expertise of an in-house design team without the cost of carrying one. We function as an extension of your operation — available when you need us, not billing when you don't.
Battery and voltage drop calculations are documented, traceable, and formatted for plan review. No black-box spreadsheets — every number is supported and included in every permit package.
When plan review comments come back, we prepare the written response, revise the drawings, and assemble the resubmittal package. You submit it — we do the technical work to get it ready.
Mile High Fire Protection is a specialized fire alarm design and consulting firm. We are not a monitoring company, an inspection service, or a general fire protection contractor. We do one thing: fire alarm design and technical documentation for the contractors and integrators who build these systems.
Our background includes hands-on experience designing, installing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and permitting fire alarm systems across a range of project types and jurisdictions. That experience is the foundation of every drawing package we produce.
About the Firm"You're working with professionals who understand how fire alarm systems are built, not just how they're drawn."
Mile High Fire ProtectionSend us your project details — building plans, specifications, equipment list, and jurisdiction. The more information you provide upfront, the faster we can turn it around.
We review the project scope, identify any questions or missing information, and provide a clear proposal with deliverables and timeline. No surprises.
We produce the drawings, calculations, and documentation. You receive drafts for review before final delivery. We incorporate your feedback and field knowledge into the final package.
You submit the package to the AHJ. If plan review comments come back, we prepare the written response and revised drawings for you to resubmit. We stay with the project until the permit is issued.
To get started quickly, gather the following before submitting:
We primarily serve contractors in Colorado. We can support projects outside Colorado when permitting requirements, jurisdictional requirements, and required credentials are clearly defined. Contact us with your project location and we'll confirm whether we can support it.
Turnaround depends on project size and complexity. Small to mid-size commercial projects typically range from 5 to 10 business days from receipt of complete project information. Larger or more complex projects take longer. We provide a specific timeline with every proposal so you can plan your submission accordingly.
Both. We can design around your preferred panel and device line, or we can recommend equipment based on the project requirements. If you have an existing relationship with a manufacturer or distributor, we'll work with what you're using. If you need guidance on equipment selection, we can help with that as well.
Plan review corrections are a normal part of the permitting process. When you receive plan review comments, send them to us. We prepare the written technical response addressing each item with supporting code references, revise the drawings as needed, and assemble the resubmittal package. You submit it to the AHJ. We stay with the project until the permit is issued.
Engineer-of-record stamping requirements vary by jurisdiction. Some AHJs require a licensed PE stamp on fire alarm drawings; many do not. We will advise you on the stamping requirements for your specific jurisdiction and can coordinate with a licensed engineer when required. Contact us with your project location for specifics. Mile High Fire Protection does not represent itself as the engineer of record unless specifically stated in writing.
Yes. Renovation and expansion projects are a significant part of what we do. Provide us with the existing system drawings, the panel model, and the scope of the expansion. We'll design the addition to integrate with the existing system and produce permit drawings for the new work.
Design-build projects require early involvement. We can engage during the estimating phase to help develop a system concept, identify equipment, and produce preliminary drawings for pricing. Once the project is awarded, we develop the full permit drawing package. Early engagement reduces surprises and helps you build a more accurate bid.
